Thanks for the info. I’m starting my first pastoral position in a few weeks. You’ve definitely given me a few things to think about.

Interesting discussion on the Reddit thread about how these numbers play out in bi-vocational pastors vs full-time.
Would be interested to hear reactions from other pastors as to whether or not they have experienced burn out.
Hi Josh!
Thanks for the creative work you put into this!
Our team has been watching similar stats, and praying that the work we do will help to fight these statistics among church leaders. (If you’re interested, here’s a video we created to help tell the story: http://www.willowcreek.com/lift/ )
I am so encouraged to hear about how you gather rookie pastors in your area. If we can help support what you’re doing, please feel free to reach out!
Blessings,
Devon Kline
Thanks for your support, just to be clear though I didn’t create that infographic but passed it on.
Moving into a time when we are having our first baby the meet-ups have been put on hold for a bit, but when they get rolling again I would love to connect.
Hi Josh!
Then I should say, thanks for passing it along!
And, congratulations on your little one coming!
Looking forward to connecting in the future.

I can google “stress” and get millions of hits in a fraction of a second. On the first page of results I can learn just about all I need to know about it and what I can do to take steps to avoid teh negative effects of it.
Then there are stats like this which, even if half right, indicate a real problem in the ministry leadership field.
What is needed is a program to bridge the gap and help weave the resources into the fabric of the ministry journey.
Thanks for posting the graphic. It’s a jumping off place to get discussion started toward finishing strong.
